3752594 - Poor performance and high CPU utilization or hanging shared memory dump - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Upgrade ASE to SP04 PL07, SP04 PL07 HF1 or SP04 PL08.
  • Or upgrade ASE to 16.1 SP00 PL01 or SP00 PL02.
  • Performance has degraded since the upgrade.
  • CPU utilization has increased since the upgrade.
  • In rare occasions, a shared memory dump will hang, and the server is non-responsive.
  • dbcc stacktrace for a slow performing spid will look similar to this:
