Symptom
After changing the Matrix Grid Rating scale configuration (for example, from a 3-point scale to a 5-point scale), the displayed ratings in Calibration Sessions and the Calibration ratings shown in the Employee Profile portlet are updated accordingly, including for finalized calibration sessions.
However, Ad-Hoc Reports and Export Extended User Information continue to display the original stored rating values and labels.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Calibration
Reproducing the Issue
- Configure the matrix grid rating scale for a trend element as a 5-point scale and finalize a calibration session.
- Change the matrix grid rating scale from 5-point to 3-point scale.
- Open the previously finalized calibration session and observe that the displayed trend entity rating label has changed in calibration and in corresponding calibration source entry in Trend Information Portlet.
- Run an Ad-hoc report or Export e=Extended User Information and observe that the original rating value and label are still shown there.
Cause
Changing the Matrix Grid Rating scale points triggers a normalization process for existing ratings.
During this process:
- Existing rating values are normalized and mapped to the updated scale configuration
- The normalized ratings are reflected in the UI, including:
- Calibration Sessions
- Employee Profile Calibration portlets
- This behavior also applies to finalized calibration sessions
At the same time Ad-Hoc Reports and Export Extended User Information continue to display the originally stored rating values and labels from before the scale change.
Resolution
If the historical UI rating labels must remain unchanged, revert the Matrix Grid Rating scale to its previous point configuration. This restores the prior UI mapping for the ratings.
Please note that there is currently no supported option to disable or override the normalization behavior in Calibration when changing Matrix Grid Rating scale points.
If you would like this behavior to be changed in a future release, you may submit an enhancement request as outlined in KBA below:
