3753065 - No Separate Sharing Permission for Metric Lists in Custom Roles in SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC)

Symptom

While configuring permissions for Metric Lists in a custom role, there is no separate “Share” permission available for selection in SAP Analytics Cloud.

Environment

SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD 2026.2.16

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAP Analytics Cloud
  2. Navigate to Security → Roles.
  3. Create a new custom role or edit an existing role.
  4. Go to the permissions section for Metric Lists.

Notice: Only permissions such as Create, Read, Update, and Delete are available, and no separate permission checkbox for Share.

Cause

This is the expected behavior in SAP Analytics Cloud.

  • For Metric Lists, sharing is not controlled by a separate dedicated permission in roles. The sharing capability is automatically inherited when the required Metric List permissions — Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) — are granted to the user role.
  • Therefore, no standalone “Share” permission is displayed in the role configuration for Metric Lists.

Resolution

  1. For Metric Lists owned by the user, sharing permission is available by default.
  2. If a Metric List is shared with another user :
with view and edit access --> Sharing permission will not be available
With full control --> Sharing Permission will be available
