Symptom

The Mass Action job in the Compensation module fails when scheduled for more than 150 employee records.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Compensation.
  2. Open Executive Review.
  3. Open a compensation template used for planning.
  4. Configure a Mass Action to update a field for a population larger than approximately 150 employees.
  5. Schedule and submit the Mass Action job.
  6. Observe that the job is created but later shows failed status and no updates are applied.

Cause

This is a known issue. 

Resolution

This issue is currently being investigated by engineering. Please bookmark this KBA and monitor it for updates on fix and timeline.

Workaround: Use Executive Review offline edit.

  1. Export Executive Review with the option to allow compensation changes.
  2. Populate the intended field changes offline.
  3. Import the file back to apply updates.

Workaround 2: Run Mass Action in smaller batches.

  1. Split the target population into groups below the failure threshold (for example, fewer than ~150 employees).
  2. Schedule and run the Mass Action for each group.
