Symptom
- The ‘Valid To’ date on employees is incorrect in Guided Selling.
- In the owner search, the Valid To appears as “Unlimited” for users who should have an end date.
Environment

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Administration work center.
- Open the Business Users work center view.
- Search for and open the Employee record (e.g., XYZ).
- Check the Validity From/To (UTC) dates on the employee record.
- Navigate to the Sales work center.
- Open the Guided Selling work center.
- Select Opportunities = All.
- Open the Advanced Filter.
- In the Owner field, open the value help (popup).
- Search for the user record (e.g., XYZ) and observe that Valid To is displayed as “Unlimited” instead of the maintained end date.
Cause
- Guided Selling owner value help retrieves the Valid From/To dates from the Employee work center.
- The employee record’s Valid To date is set to Unlimited, indicating the end date was not maintained.
Resolution
- Navigate to the People work center and open the Employees work center view.
- Open the employee record (e.g., XYZ) and update the Valid To date to the correct end date (values are stored in UTC).
- Save the employee record.
- Return to Guided Selling > Advanced Filter > Owner value help and confirm that the Valid To date reflects the updated end date.
- If a the Valid to date difference is observed between Employee and Guided Selling, verify timezone settings, as dates are handled in UTC and display may vary by timezone.
