Symptom
Elements with empty values should be retained in payment medium files generated by automatic payments.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
Cause
Resolution
- In the "Map Format Data for Payments" app, if a standard-delivered payment format mapping is used, create a copy as a custom format.
- Open the custom format and navigate to 'Format Mapping Properties'.
- On the 'Post-Processing' tab, set 'Empty Element Processing' to "Do not remove" to retain elements with empty values in the output.
If only certain elements should appear when empty, note that per-node control is not supported.
As a workaround, set the 'Status' of the nodes that must appear to 'Standard' or 'Mandatory', and set other nodes to 'Optional'.
