3754126 - Error message : "Worker ID can only contain upper case letters, numbers, '_', '.' and '-'"

Symptom

While creating a worker in the Manage Workforce app, the following error message is displayed:

"Worker ID can only contain upper case letters, numbers, '_', '.' and '-'."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Manage Workforce app.
  2. Click on Create option.
  3. Enter Worker ID example : AB@.
  4. Observe the error message.

Cause

The entered Worker ID contains invalid special characters which are not supported by the system validation.

Resolution

Maintain the Worker ID using only the supported characters below:

  • Upper case letters (A–Z)
  • Numbers (0–9)
  • Underscore ( _)
  • Period (.)
  • Hyphen (-)

Remove unsupported special characters such as @,#.$.%,& etc and then save the worker details again.
