3754462 - Email formatting incorrectly transferred from v1 to v2 (formatting loss / deviation)

Symptom

Email Formatting Incorrectly Transferred from V1 to V2 (Formatting Loss / Deviation)

Environment

SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In V1, create or open an email that contains formatted content (for example: line breaks, text alignment, bold/italic, spacing, HTML).
  2. Use the Transition Tools’ Data Transition Tool (DTT) to migrate the email data from V1 to V2.
  3. Open the migrated email in V2.
  4. Compare the formatting between V1 and V2 and observe deviations (for example: lost line breaks, altered alignment, missing bold/italic, spacing changes, partial HTML loss).

Cause

V2 currently does not support MHT-based original email content. Emails whose original content is MHT cannot preserve their original formatting after migration.

Resolution

  1. Identify whether the affected emails contain MHT-based original content.
  2. If the original content is MHT, be aware this is a current product limitation in V2; the original formatting cannot be preserved after migration.
  3. If preservation of formatting is required for future consideration, refer to: Submit or vote for an idea on the Customer Influence site.
