Symptom
Email Formatting Incorrectly Transferred from V1 to V2 (Formatting Loss / Deviation)
Environment
SAP Service Cloud Version 2
Reproducing the Issue
- In V1, create or open an email that contains formatted content (for example: line breaks, text alignment, bold/italic, spacing, HTML).
- Use the Transition Tools’ Data Transition Tool (DTT) to migrate the email data from V1 to V2.
- Open the migrated email in V2.
- Compare the formatting between V1 and V2 and observe deviations (for example: lost line breaks, altered alignment, missing bold/italic, spacing changes, partial HTML loss).
Cause
V2 currently does not support MHT-based original email content. Emails whose original content is MHT cannot preserve their original formatting after migration.
Resolution
- Identify whether the affected emails contain MHT-based original content.
- If the original content is MHT, be aware this is a current product limitation in V2; the original formatting cannot be preserved after migration.
- If preservation of formatting is required for future consideration, refer to: Submit or vote for an idea on the Customer Influence site.
