3754825 - Cannot Extend Manage substitution/Validation Rules to G/L Master Data Business Context - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • Guidance requested on extending the Manage Substitution/Validation Rules app to support G/L master data business context.
  • Previously possible approaches in ECC or S/4HANA on-premise lead to the question whether similar validation/substitution on G/L master data can be enabled in public cloud.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Functionality is not available by design the Manage Substitution/Validation Rules app in public cloud does not provide a business context for G/L master data, and substitution of G/L account or amount is not supported.

Resolution

  1. Acknowledge that in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition the Manage Substitution/Validation Rules app cannot be extended to G/L master data; substitution of G/L account or amount is not supported by design.
  2. Note that there is currently no BAdI available in public cloud to implement validations for creation or change of G/L master data.
  3. If this capability is required, submit a feature request via the Customer Influence program; refer to: KBA 2963059.
