3754914 - Failed to PATCH "Application Information" update & Repeated Warning Message Due to Required Field - Recruiting Management

Symptom

When a candidate is moved to a new status with additional required fields and if any required field is not completed upon saving, the following issues occur:

Symptom 1: An application error is displayed indicating that a required field is missing:

  • internalMessage=Failed to PATCH "Application Information" update.
  • errorMessage=xxx Field is required.
  • code=BAD_REQUEST

Symptom 2: A warning message appears repeatedly:

  • "Before you can proceed with other actions, you need to save or cancel the changes you are making to the Application Information portlet."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the job application
  2. Click Edit
  3. Complete the fields but one required field is left blank.
  4. Click Save
  5. An application error appears indicating a missing required field.
  6. Close the application error
  7. Click anywhere on the page, a warning message starts to appear repeatedly: "Before you can proceed with other actions, you need to save or cancel the changes you are making to the Application Information portlet."
  8. Try to complete the required fields, but the warning continues to appear.
  9. As a result, users are unable to edit any fields and must refresh the window to start over again.

Cause

This is a known issue.

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed with the microservice patch cycle below:

  • Preview: 23-June-26
  • Production: 25-June-26
