3755098 - Cannot reverse goods receipt after usage decision is recorded - SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition

Symptom

Requirement: Reverse Inbound Delivery Goods receipt after Usage Decision is recorded for relevant inspection lot.

Environment

Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a purchase order for a material with Quality Management activated.
  2. Execute and complete Quality Management steps, including making and accepting the usage decision for the inspection lot.
  3. Post the supplier invoice for the purchase order.
  4. Attempt to reverse the goods receipt; reversal is not possible after usage decision.

Cause

Reversal of goods receipt is not permitted after a usage decision is posted for the inspection lot. This is working as designed.

Resolution

  1. A direct goods receipt reversal is not possible after usage decision; use a return-to-vendor process to correct stock and reverse invoicing.
  2. Create a return purchase order by referencing the original purchase order item and setting the return flag at item level for the quantity to be corrected.
  3. Post the return goods movement to send the stock back to the supplier as a vendor return, based on the return purchase order.
  4. Create and post a supplier credit memo referencing the return purchase order to reverse the previously posted invoice amount.
  5. If required, create a new (correct) receipt and post a new supplier invoice for the correct quantity.
