3755286 - Alerts are not triggered to the Incubment of the Parent Position

A business rule is created to trigger alerts on Vacant Position. A workflow with Approver Type: Position Relationship and Approver Role: Parent Position is defined in the business rule.

When a Position status is changed to Vacant, an alert should be trigggered to the incumbent of the Parent Position. 

The Incumbent of the Parent Position does not receive any alert neither in the To‑Do list nor via notifications while the other wrkflow participants are receiving it as expected. 

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position Management.

1. Set up an alert rule to check past dated vacancies in Position. 
2. Configure a workflow setting the Approver/CC role using Parent Position as the Position Relationship. 
3. Observe the alerts and notifications are not triggered. 

The Approver Type: Position Relationship with Approver Role: Parent Position is NOT supported for triggering Alerts. And as this is a Position based workflow, setting the Approver Role as Manager's Manager is also not an option as it is not supported.

For a Position based workflow, Approver Type: Position Relationship with Approver Role: Parent Position is supported only for triggering workflow approvals and NOT alerts.

This is a known limitation with MDF ALerts.
