3755369 - "Please contact Administrator for associating guideline rules" error when trying to give out an award - Reward and Recognition

Symptom

  • Error occurs when submitting an award.
  • Error message: "Cannot proceed with the nomination(s) as there is no guideline rule associated with the program. Please contact Administrator for associating guideline rules."

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Rewards and Recognition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Recognise and Reward someone.
  2. Select the relevant award program.
  3. Select a company value and an award level.
  4. Enter an amount.
  5. Press Send.
  6. Observe the error message.

Cause

The guidelines file for the award program does not include a guideline for the nominee’s currency (GUIDELINE_CURRENCY_CODE). Therefore no matching guideline rule could be found for the user’s currency.

Resolution

    • Go to Reward and Recognition
    • Select on Manage Spot Award Programmes
    • Choose your award programme and go to the Guidelines section
    • Download the current Guidelines
    • Update and modify the Guidelines so that it includes all relevant currencies
    • Save and import it to the award programme
