3755464 - Error: 2805, Severity: 18 - Bad pointer <xxxx> encountered while remapping stored procedure - ASE

Symptom

  • This can occur after the previous execution hit in some kind of error. For example, in some reproductions, a first run returns Msg 257: "Implicit conversion from datatype 'VARCHAR' to 'INT' is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query." The subsequent successful run logs error 2805 in the server error log.
  • Error: 2805, Severity: 18, State: 20
    Bad pointer <xxx>encountered while remapping stored procedure '<procName>'. Must re-create or replace procedure.
