Symptom
- With a story having the conditional filter excluding “contains”, when opening the Data Analyzer from story, the export to Excel function fails and no Excel file is generated.
- With a story having the conditional filter excluding “between”, when opening the Data Analyzer from story, the export to Excel function works and Excel file is generated correctly.
- Note that the issue only occurs for Export Excel (NOT for Export CSV nor PDF)
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud - Versions 2025.21.13 (Client) 2025.21.11 (Server)
Cause
Some filter operators are not supported directly by Data Analyzer yet. Thus there was missing handling in the filter code when building the Appendix which displays these filters.
Resolution
Starting from QRC2 2026 Release (2026.8.5), additional restrictions in Story Filters that prevent Excel export from Data Analyzer are now supported like :
- Text match – Contains
- Text match – Begins with
- Text match – Ends with
- Wildcard – Matches pattern
