3755677 - System throws an error when a Job information record is inserted/edited through history and the change involves a position with a different manager - 1H 2026

Symptom

  • When attempting to insert/edit a record through job information history, system throws an error when the record involves a position change with a different manager.
  • Error message: "You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator." 
  • The issue only occurs in PP3(legacy) history UI, it does not occur in Pencil(Edit) and All actions-> Change Job and Compensation information.

 

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Job Information

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the profile of a user.
  2. Navigate to Job Information > History > Insert New Record.
  3. Select Event and Event Reason.
  4. Change the employee’s Position, such that the new position involves a different manager.
  5. Click on Save, System throws the message "You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator."

Resolution

  • Product Engineering is investigating a solution.

Workaround:

  • After the System throws the message "You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator."
  • Click ok
  • Clear the Position field, reselect the same position again and Click on Save.
  • System saves the record without any issue.
