Symptom

  • In legacy people profile, selecting Update from a workflow navigated to Change Job and Compensation Information and allowed compensation updates.
  • In latest people profile, selecting Update from a workflow navigates only to Job Information.
  • Compensation Information cannot be updated directly from this workflow entry point.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Initiate or open an employee workflow and select the Update option from the profile/workflow context.
  2. Observe that in legacy people profile the navigation allows Change Job and Compensation Information.
  3. In latest people profile, the navigation opens only Job Information; Compensation Information is not available from this path.

Cause

This is expected behavior by design in latest people profile to ensure data consistency. The legacy people profile behavior allowed combined updates that could lead to inconsistencies.

Resolution

  • Note that in latest people profile, updating Compensation Information from the Update action within the workflow context is not supported and is working as designed.
  • To update compensation data, perform a separate compensation change process or initiate a dedicated compensation workflow according to your configuration and permissions.
