Symptom

When performing SOAP web service communication, the system returns an HTTP 404 response. This article provides a general explanation of the HTTP 404 error message and its common causes.

A 404 error is received when attempting to access a specific URL path, even though the main hostname is accessible.

When accessing just https://example-hostname.com, the server responds because it exists, is running, and is configured to display content at the root level. However, when adding /sap/bc/srt/ExampleCustomerService/ExampleServiceBinding, the server looks for that specific resource and cannot locate it.
