Symptom
- All records in the RBP User Role Change Report display the technical user “v4admin” as the Changed By user.
- v4admin is displayed even when you know whom made the changes.
- How identify modifications performed by named users and to ensure traceability?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Audit area and select the option to create a configuration data audit.
- Navigate to Role-Based Permissions.
- Select the RBP User Role Change Report.
- Run/complete the audit and observe that the Changed By user is shown as v4admin for all entries.
Cause
Currently system design. The RBP User Role Change Report standardizes the “Changed By” field to the system user v4admin due to asynchronous role mapping updates (for example, from user attribute, group membership, or direct role assignment changes).
Resolution
To identify and track the "Changed By User" for specific audit records, cross-referencing data using the RBP Role Change Report, RBP Group Change Report, and Personal Data Report is possible. Follow these steps:
- Check the Timestamp: Examine the timestamp of the user-role changes recorded in the RBP User Role Change Report.
- Generate Reports: Produce the RBP Role Change Report, RBP Group Change Report, and Personal Data Report for the timeframe surrounding that timestamp.
- Cross-Reference Data: Compare the data in these reports to confirm the exact "Changed By User."
The "Changed By User" in the RBP Role Change Report, RBP Group Change Report, and Personal Data Report represents the session user who made the changes. This approach is suitable for verifying the exact "changed_by" user for a few specific audit records.
