3756053 - contingent hire will not save after release due to manager error popup (before release you could proceed and ignore popup warning)

After Release the following error now halts hiring of contingent worker completely:

User X(X) has an inactive manager, Y (Y), as of MM/DD/YY. The manager provided in the record has the status Terminated, which means they are inactive.

Before Release you would be able to click proceed and ignore, but now this error is a hard stop on hiring.

1. Terminate a manager with future dated termination date (Example terminate dec 1, 2026)
2. Now try to hire a new contingent worker with a termination and work order end date After the managers termination date. (So as example termination date some date in 2027..year after). Make sure you set the manager name as the manager in job information for this new contingent worker.
3. Note when you try to save the new contingent worker you get this manager error popup and also another generic “this record was not saved because there were errors in other records…. and you are unable to continue finishing the hire.

An escalation was created to investigate this change in behavior.

Engineering Team has completed code fix and it is planned to fix in preview instance on 2nd June 2026 and in production instance on 4th June 2026.

Only workaround currently is to make sure you do not hire a new contingent worker with a manager that has a future dated termination date set before the end date of new hired contingent worker.
