3756089 - Inconsistent Portlet Visibility in New Hire Data Review After Onboarding Restart - Onboarding

After restarting an onboarding process, inconsistent behavior is observed in the New Hire Data Review (NHDR) step:

• Certain portlets (e.g., Document Attachment) are no longer visible after restart, although they are available in a standard onboarding process.
• Additional portlets (e.g., Compensation Info) may appear unexpectedly.
• The Recruit Template section (HRIS elements / Config UI) may be missing.

This behavior may give the impression that recruiter permissions or template configurations have changed after the onboarding restart.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0

1. Initiate an onboarding process.
2. Complete the New Hire Data Review (NHDR) step.
3. Click access New Hire Data via the Actions menu.

Observed Result:

• Portlet visibility differs between access methods and compared to the standard onboarding flow.

The behavior is not caused by changes in recruiter permissions or template configuration.

Instead, it is due to different template resolution logic used by the system depending on how the New Hire Data Review step is accessed:

• When accessed via the Start button (pending step), the system applies the New Recruit Data Review Template rule.
• When accessed via Actions → New Hire Data, the system uses the Access New Recruit Data Template rule.

If the “Rule for Access New Recruit Data Template” is not maintained in the DEFAULT_ONB2_CONFIG object from Manage Data - Onboarding configuration, the system defaults to a different template, leading to inconsistent portlet visibility.

To ensure consistent behavior, maintain the template assignment rule for both access scenarios.

Navigate to Manage Data - Onboarding configuration > DEFAULT_ONB2_CONFIG and maintain the field:

Ensure that the same business rule used in:

Rule for New Recruit Data Review Template

is also assigned to the Rule for Access New Recruit Data Template field.

After maintaining this configuration, the same template will be applied consistently when accessing the New Hire Data Review step via both:

• Start (NHDR workflow access)
• Actions > New Hire Data (dashboard access)

This ensures that all expected portlets are displayed correctly.
