3756091 - Primary system freeze/hang during planned secondary shutdown in System Replication environment due to logshipping timeout

Symptom

  • During a disaster recovery test simulating a zone failure, a hard shutdown of the secondary HANA node caused the primary site to temporarily lose application connectivity.
  • Online calls dropped to zero for approximately one minute while the secondary was shutting down.
  • A trace file with “LogshippingTimeout” in the name was generated around the event timeframe.
