3756177 - Validation error when trying to use CONFIG.READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES in Advanced Formula

Symptom

  • A validation error occurs when attempting to set CONFIG.READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES = ON in Advanced Formula in a tenant. 
  • Validation error: "READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES" instruction is not used in Advanced Formula. 
  • The same configuration worked in other tenants where the script was developed.

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable or use CONFIG.READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES = ON in a test tenant (for example, QA) and transport the content to production.
  2. In production, attempt to set or use the configuration; observe a validation error: "READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES" instruction is not used in Advanced Formula.

Cause

  • This configuration function is only supported on SAP Analytics Cloud tenants based on SAP HANA Cloud.
  • Refer to SAP Analytics Cloud Help > About Script Formulas and Calculations in Advanced Formulas for Planning >  CONFIG.READ_CALCULATED_MEMBER_VALUES

Verify whether your tenant is on HANA Cloud by checking the About information as described in KBA 3477076 - How to determine whether an SAP Analytics Cloud tenant is running on SAP HANA Cloud?
