3756548 - Realized Exchange Differences during GR/IR clearing caused by differing account assignment between Goods Receipt and Invoice Receipt — SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• During GR/IR clearing, realized exchange rate difference line items are generated
• Debit and credit postings from the realized exchange difference split across different cost objects (for example, one side to a WBS element and the other side to a cost center), preventing offset.
• WBS element appears on the GR/IR line of the supplier invoice but is missing on the GR/IR line of the goods receipt.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create a purchase order with an account assignment like WBS Element or Cost Center.
2. Post the goods receipt; the GR/IR (WRX) line is created without the Account Assignment in FI document.
3. Post the supplier invoice; the GR/IR (WRX) line is created with the Account Assignment in FI document.
4. Clear the GR/IR account for the GR and IR line items.
5. Observe that realized exchange difference line items are created and the postings split across different account assignments, provided that the exchange rate between posting date and clearing date is different.

Different account assignment between the GR/IR (WRX) line of the Goods Receipt and that of the Invoice Receipt. Specifically, Account Assignment like Cost Center/WBS Element is not transferred to the GR/IR line in the Goods Receipt, while it is present on the Invoice Receipt. This prevents exchange rate difference elimination during clearing.

Follow the resolution in KBA 3007837 - Cost center not transferred to the GR/IR Accounting line in FI to enable Account Assignment transfer to WRX line item during Goods Receipt.
