3756641 - Error during sales order creation when assigning WBS elements

Symptom

  • "WBS element cannot be assigned” error when assigning WBS elements during sales order creation.
  • "Derived results analysis key NONREV doesn't match key EPMNC of the WBS Element" error when assigning WBS elements during sales order creation.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app Create Sales Order (VA01).
  2. Fill out the header details, create an item and try assigning a WBS element to that item.

Cause

Currently the RA key NONREV is not supported for EPPM projects, and EPMNC is the recommended key.

Resolution

  • SAP is working on a permanent solution to allow the usage of NONREV as a RA key for enterprise projects. It is planned to be delivered in the upcoming hotfix.
  • As a workaround we recommend to change the revenue recognition key from NONREV to EPMNC for the WBS Elements in the SSCUI 102517 - Derivation of Recognition Key for Projects so that new projects created will not use NONREV as the RAm key.
  • For already existing projects/WBS Elements which have RA key set as NONREV we recommend to use the app Event Based Revenue Recognition - Projects (F4747) to change the revenue recognition key to EPMNC for these WBS Elements.
  • The workaround is not applicable for customers using public sector projects.
