3756902 - Homepage Tile Displays "View Errors in Compliance Document Creation" with errorMessageParameterMap Error - Onboarding

The Onboarding homepage tile displays "View Errors in Compliance Document Creation for Compliance". The following error is shown when navigating to the associated Business Process Engine (BPE) process instance:

"Error occurred during read of Business Process Engine Process Instance: XXXX Cannot read properties of null (reading 'errorMessageParameterMap')"

The error is related to a failure during OpenText compliance document creation.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Log in as an administrator or hiring manager.
2. Navigate to the Onboarding homepage.
3. Observe the homepage tile showing "View Errors in Compliance Document Creation for Compliance".
4. Note the error: "Error occurred during read of Business Process Engine Process Instance: [ABCD-1234]: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'errorMessageParameterMap')".

The Business Process Engine process instance encounters a null reference when forms are uploaded to OpenText during compliance document creation, leaving the task in an error state and generating the homepage error tile.

NOTE: A permanent fix is targeted for the 2H 2026 release. Apply the following workaround until the fix is available. For release timelines, refer to SAP SuccessFactors Product Release and Road Map Information.

For Live Customer(s) and Implementation Partner(s) and Consultant(s)

1. Note the Process Instance ID shown in the error message (for example, ABCD-1234).
2. Navigate to Admin Center > BPE: Manage User Tasks.
3. Filter by Process Instance ID using the value from step 1.
4. Select the task in error.
5. Click Complete Task.
6. Verify that the error homepage card disappears and the compliance document or e-signature task is available in the Onboarding Dashboard.
