3756928 - Limit portlet visibility in "Review Offboarding Information" step for Offboarding candidate

Symptom

  • The "Review Offboarding Information" step displays more information than necessary to employees.
  • Employees see portlets such as Personal Information, Employment Details, and Compensation Information that may not be relevant for the offboarding review.

Environment

 SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Initiate Offboarding 2.0 for a user and reach the "Review Offboarding Information" step.
  2. Log in as the employee assigned to the step and open "Review Offboarding Information".
  3. Observe that multiple portlets (for example, Personal Information, Employment Details, Compensation Information) are visible and may be editable or viewable.

Cause

The visibility of portlets in the "Review Offboarding Information" step is tied to Employee Central role-based permissions and People Profile configuration, not to an offboarding-only setting.

Resolution

  1. Review Employee Central role-based permissions (RBP) for the affected employee role:
  2. Remove or limit View/Edit self-service permissions for portlets that should not appear (for example, Personal Information, Employment Details, Compensation Information).
  3. Set unneeded portlets to no access or view-only, as required.
  4. Review profile configuration:
  5. In People Profile (or legacy profile configuration, if applicable), hide or exclude sections/portlets that should not be presented during the data review.
  6. Validate Offboarding object permissions:
  7. In RBP, ensure ONB2Process permissions are correctly set so only intended roles can access the "Review Offboarding Information" step.
  8. Verify business rule access:
  9. Ensure the ONB2_OFB_EmployeeReviewCheck business rule (if used) evaluates to true for scenarios where the step should be accessible.
  10. Ensure necessary Employee Central Effective Dated Entities permissions remain granted for any data that must be visible in the step.
  11. Test end-to-end with a user in the affected role to confirm only the intended portlets are visible in "Review Offboarding Information".
