Symptom
- Different tenants show different default regional settings for users: one uses MM/DD/YYYY with 1,234,567.89, another uses DD.MM.YY with 1.234.567,89.
- Same user import file and the same settings were used across tenants when creating users.
- A specific country/company context was specified consistently during user creation.
- In each tenant, the values shown in the Settings dialog match the values in the Maintain Business Users app.
- Backend defaults (for example, country-based values in T005X for date and decimal format) do not match what is shown in Maintain Business Users for affected users.
- No error messages are displayed.
Environment
- Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
- Identity and Access Management
Reproducing the Issue
- In release 2602, open the Maintain Business Users app and create a new business user linked to a specific country/company context.
- Leave regional settings (date/decimal/time) to rely on defaults and save the draft/record.
- Open the user in Maintain Business Users and in the Settings dialog and observe that the formats may not reflect the expected country defaults (for example, from T005X).
- Compare across tenants: values can differ even when the same user import and setup were used.
Cause
In release 2602, draft-handling in the Maintain Business Users app does not apply the default regional settings (date/decimal/time) when the draft is created, leading to inconsistent initial values that must be set manually.
Resolution
- Until the correction becomes available, explicitly maintain the regional settings (date, decimal, time) in the Maintain Business Users app during user creation; do not rely on defaults.
- After saving, verify that the Maintain Business Users app and the user’s Settings dialog show the expected formats.
- Optionally validate the expected defaults for the relevant country in backend customizing (for example, T005X) to know what values should apply on creation.
- Plan to adopt release 2608 or higher, where the draft is populated correctly with default regional settings on creation. After that, defaults will prefill and can still be adjusted as needed.
- Note: Changes done in the Maintain Business Users app override initial defaults and are reflected in the Settings dialog. Change logs for these regional settings are not available.
