Symptom

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, when testing the scripts for Brazil Localization, such as payment posting, encounter error "Tax code & does not exist for jurisdiction code &".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Create Outgoing Invoices (FB70).
  2. Enter all required fields and tax code.
  3. Post the document. The system raises FF718: “Tax code & does not exist for jurisdiction code &”.

Cause

External Tax Calculation Service is not active/connected. For Brazil scenarios, this service is mandatory; without it, jurisdiction codes and tax code/jurisdiction combinations are not available to the system, causing FF718.

Resolution

Activate and connect External Tax Calculation Service for Brazil.
