3757174 - Empty Business Parameters no longer skipped post upgrade - Tricentis

Symptom

After upgrading to Tricentis Tosca 2025.1.6, executions of Reusable TestStepBlocks (RTSBs) using BusinessParameters mapped to input controls within a parent container behave differently compared to earlier versions.
  • Previous behavior (e.g., 2025.1.2):
    • When no BusinessParameter values were provided at TestCase level, Tosca skipped the parent container (ActionMode = “Select”) and its child controls.
    • This allowed TestCases to pass in scenarios where the related UI elements were not present or where input was intentionally omitted.
  • New behavior (2025.1.6 and later):
    • Tosca attempts to identify and select the parent container even if BusinessParameter values are not supplied.
    • The container is no longer conditionally skipped when parameters are empty.
  • Impact:
    • TestCases that depend on optional BusinessParameters and conditional UI presence may fail if the parent container is not available in the AUT.
    • Test design and/or module configuration may need to be adjusted to maintain stable execution under the new behavior.
