3757271 - BCC Recipient (Offboardee) Not Receiving Emails for Custom Offboarding Task Templates - Onboarding

Symptom

  • The Offboardee is not receiving email notifications when configured as a BCC (or any) recipient in custom offboarding task email templates.
  • Additionally, the Offboardee does not appear in Email Services > Email Status for these notifications.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Email Services
  2. Open the custom email
  3. Add the Offboardee as a recipient (To, CC, or BCC)
  4. Save the template
  5. Trigger the offboarding process for an employee
  6. Observe that the Offboardee does not receive the email notification
  7. Navigate to Email Services > Email Status: the Offboardee is not listed as a recipient for the notification

Cause

This is the expected system behavior.

Custom offboarding task email templates are only supported for mandatory custom tasks assigned to onboarding participants and responsible users. The Offboardee (employee leaving the company) is not a supported recipient for these templates.

Resolution

The system does not generate email notifications for the Offboardee when they are configured as a recipient on custom offboarding task templates.

If the customer requires the Offboardee to be notified, a different email template and trigger must be used (one that supports the Offboardee role as a valid recipient via the Onboarding Role-Based Recipient Builder).
