3757371 - Missing year validation in FBN1: documents posted in a fiscal year use year-9999 number ranges

Symptom

  • Number range intervals in transaction FBN1 (object RF_BELEG) are maintained with fiscal year 9999.
  • Documents posted for a specific fiscal year (for example, 2026) are assigned to number range intervals intended for year 9999.
  • There is no validation in FBN1 enforcing that the posting fiscal year must match the interval’s fiscal year.
  • When later creating year-dependent intervals, warning “Numbers were already assigned for this period (Message no. NR605)” can appear due to overlaps with non-initial statuses.
