3757405 - "Welcome a New Teammate" Home Page Card Visible to All Team Members – Onboarding

Symptom

  • The "Welcome a New Teammate" card appears on the home page of all team members when a new hire joins the team.
  • Customer expects the card to be visible only to the hiring manager, or only to a specific participant configured in the Onboarding process.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in as a team member (non-manager, non-buddy) of the new hire.
  2. Observe that the "Welcome a New Teammate" featured card appears at the top of the home page.

Resolution

The "Welcome a New Teammate" card is designed to display for both the hiring manager and the new hire's teammates. This is expected behavior introduced in 2H 2025 (reference OBX-38815).

The card visibility is driven by org structure (colleagues who share the same manager as the new hire), not by the Onboarding participants configuration. 

This card can be confused with the buddy home page card (OBX-40405, 1H 2026), which is restricted to the user assigned as the buddy for the new hire. These are two separate cards with different audiences:
