Symptom

  • Users can access the "Maintain Business Users" application but cannot add or remove business roles for a user.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Maintain Business Users" application.
  2. Select a user and attempt to add or remove a business role.
  3. Observe that the system does not allow saving changes to the user's assigned roles.

Cause

Resolution

  1. Add the business catalog SAP_CORE_BC_IAM_RA to the relevant business role that grants access to the "Maintain Business User" application.
  2. Activate the IAM app F1303_22_TRAN.
  3. Do not activate the IAM app F1492_22_TRAN if you must restrict access to the "Maintain Business Role" application.
  4. Test in the "Maintain Business User" application that adding and removing user roles is now possible.
