Symptom
Error CP466 – "Number of decimal places is larger than allowed in Customizing" occurs when maintaining decimal values in base quantities of routing operations.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to application "Change Routing"
- Enter Material and Plant.
- Go to operations tab.
- In the Base Quantity field, enter a value with decimal places (for example, 1.25).
- Observe the error : "Number of decimal places is larger than allowed in Customizing"
Cause
The decimal precision is controlled by Unit of Measure (UoM) customizing; the relevant UoM is configured with insufficient decimal places, causing rounding.
Resolution
- Follow below steps to to maintain a work center in 'SSCUI 102179 Units of measurement' in Manage Your Solution app:

- Open 'Manage Your Solution' app.
- Navigate to 'Configure Your Solution'.
- Search for the ID '500286'.
- Choose configuration activity 'SSCUI 102179 Units of measurement'
- Click on Dimensions.
- Display & Edit the relevant Dimension unit.
- Maintain Decimal rounding.
- Save
- Incase while using SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC) :

- Log on to the project experience in SAP Central Business Configuration.
- Select the relevant project.
- Navigate to the configurations activity tab.
- Search for the configuration activity 'SSCUI 102179 Units of measurement'
- Select the configuration activity to navigate directly to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
- Click on Dimensions.
- Display & Edit the relevant Dimension unit.
- Maintain the Decimal rounding.
- Save.
