Symptom
"Initialize per person immutable id" job in Provisioning fails with AccessDeniedException when calling service 'com.successfactors.hris.service.upgrade.GetEmptyPersonUUID'; job stops without initializing person UUIDs.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Biographical Info - Config, Rules, RBP, UI
Reproducing the Issue
- In Provisioning, run the job "Initialize per person immutable id".
- Observe that the job fails and no Person UUIDs are initialized. The error indicates AccessDeniedException for service 'com.successfactors.hris.service.upgrade.GetEmptyPersonUUID'.
Cause
A product defect causes the backend authorization check to block the service 'com.successfactors.hris.service.upgrade.GetEmptyPersonUUID' during execution of the "Initialize per person immutable id" job, resulting in AccessDeniedException.
Resolution
The fix will deployed on June 2nd for Preview Instances, June 4th for Production Instances and June 5th for Sales Demos.
As a temporary workaround:
- In Admin Center, open Check Tool.
- Search for "EmptyOrDuplicatePersonUUID".
- Run the check to detect null, empty, or duplicate Person UUIDs.
- If issues are found, select Fix to automatically correct them. For empty UUIDs, valid UUIDs are generated. For duplicates, the lowest Person ID retains the existing UUID and others receive new UUIDs.
- After the product fix is delivered in a subsequent patch, rerun the "Initialize per person immutable id" job to confirm successful completion.
