3757920 - Rehire error: You don’t have permission to rehire this user. Please contact your system administrator. - Onboarding

When attempting to proceed with Rehire Verification from the Employment Profile Selection step, the following error message is displayed:

“You don’t have permission to rehire this user. Please contact your system administrator.”

The user responsible for the rehire process has all required permissions and is able to rehire other candidates successfully, but the error occurs only for a specific candidate.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Proxy as Rehire coordinator.

2. Try to click ion the rehire profile, the warning message is display as “You don’t have permission to rehire this user. Please contact your system administrator.”

Cause 1:

The candidate is still an active employee in Employee Central. Rehire processes only work for terminated/inactive employees.

Cause 2:

Issue due to missing permissions.

Resolution 1:

Open the candidate’s Employee Central profile and verify the Employment Information status. If the employee is shown as Active, rehire is not allowed.

You can also confirm the status in:

1. Admin Center → Data Inspector → Table_UserSysInfo
2. Filter by the candidate User ID and check the status value:

• t = Active employee
• f = Terminated employee

If the value is t, the employee is still active and standard rehire cannot proceed.

Ensure the employee is properly terminated before attempting the rehire process.

Resolution 2:

1. Review the role-based permission role assigned to the user who performs the rehire match acceptance.
2. Configure the required permissions for rehire actions.
3. Ensure the target population includes rehire inactive users.
4. Assign the updated permission role to the user.
5. Save the changes and retry accepting the rehire match.
