Symptom
- After activating Event-Based Costing, a new Settlement Rule tab appears when creating a rework order.
- The settlement rule can currently only be maintained manually.
- Inquiry about an option to generate the settlement rule automatically for this scenario.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Activate Event-Based Costing.
- Create a rework order.
- Observe that a Settlement Rule tab opens and the settlement rule must be entered manually.
Cause
With Event-Based Costing activation, settlement rules become mandatory for relevant scenarios.
Standard system behavior does not automatically create customer-specific settlement rules for Rework Orders without additional logic implementation.
The BAdI framework supports generation of default event-based posting rules only for supported receiver categories and requires implementation through the Custom Logic application.
Resolution
For scenarios where automatic creation of settlement rules is required after Event-Based Costing activation, customers can use enhancement logic through BAdI FCO_EB_PSTRL_GNRT_DFLT_RULE.
This BAdI enables the generation of default Event-Based Posting Rules during manufacturing order creation and can be used to derive non-material settlement receivers automatically based on customer-specific business requirements.
