3758215 - Adding 2 competency sections in Job Profile: Role-mapped competencies populate both sections when two competency sections are configured - SAP successfactors platform

Symptom

Trying to have 2 competency sections in a Job Profile, one for Role-based competencies already present, and one for added competencies.

However, the competencies added to the second section also get added to the first one.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a job profile template with two sections of COMPETENCY type.
  2. Map competencies to the job role and manually select competencies in section 2.
  3. Open the job profile and observe that section 1 receives the role-mapped competencies and the ones added in section 2 are also added to section 1.

Cause

Adding two COMPETENCY sections in a job profile is not supported; the system maintains only one role-to-competency association and updates the first competency section by design.

Resolution

It is not supported to have multiple competency sections in a Job Profile.

A potential workaround you could use is adding a long description and add competencies like a list with bulletpoints (instead of picking them up with "add).
