Symptom
- The system shows an error: “The configured rules ([**]) are not valid for object EmployeeTime. The base object of the rule does not match the object definition. Remove the rules or assign rules with the correct base object to proceed.”
- Both rules were created under the “Absence Validation” scenario, which is not correct for alert rules. Because of the wrong scenario, the system rejects them when attached to EmployeeTime alerts.
- The error text is misleading: the problem is the rule scenario, not the base object.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central : Time Off
Reproducing the Issue
- Open Configure Object Definitions and go to the Employee Time object.
- Click Take Action > Make Correction.
- Make a change (for example, add a new custom field).
- Click Save.
- On save, the system shows an error stating the existing rules are not valid for the Employee Time object and the base object does not match the object definition. Example: “The configured rules ([**]) are not valid for object EmployeeTime. The base object of the rule does not match the object definition. Remove the rules or assign rules with the correct base object to proceed.”
