3758603 - Group Search in Advanced Criteria is Not Supported in Enhanced People Search

• In Enhanced People Search, the "Group" option is not available or supported within the Advanced Criteria section.
• Customers migrating from the legacy People Search may notice that group-based filtering functionality is no longer available in Enhanced People Search.

The Legacy People Search previously supported group-based filtering in the Advanced Criteria section. However, a known issue existed where group-based filtering could bypass or interfere with additional module-level permission controls.

As a result:

• Permission filtering could be lost
• Security restrictions could be inconsistently applied
• Users could potentially view results outside the intended permission scope

To avoid these permission inconsistencies, the Enhanced People Search design does not currently support group-based filtering in the Advanced Criteria section.

This functionality will remain unsupported currently and until the solution is implemented by our Product Team that fully preserves module-level permission filtering and security behavior which is in product  roadmap for future release.

Currently, Group Search within Advanced Criteria is not supported in Enhanced People Search.

As an alternative, consider using other available filter criteria to approximate the required population scope, such as:

• Department
• Division
• Location
• Employment Status
• Business Unit
• Manager
• Other supported organizational filters

These filters continue to respect the Enhanced People Search permission framework.

If group-based search functionality is critical for your business requirements, it is recommended to submit an enhancement request through the  SAP Customer Influence portal for consideration  and prioritize the capability for future roadmap.
