Symptom
- "Open in Excel Add-in" is greyed out in table based on the model containing User-Managed date dimension
- It is able to insert this model into SAC Excel Add-in directly
- This issue would occur on both Edit mode and Full Viewer Mode of the story
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.8.6
Reproducing the Issue
- Log onto SAC
- Create a model with User-Managed date dimension
- Create an optimized story based on this model as below steps
- Navigate to the Edit mode of the story
- Insert a table into this story
- Add the dimension and measure into this table
- Navigate to the Table Properties on Builder Panel and check on the option "Enable Excel Add-in"
- Go back to the table, click on the three dot graph button beside the table and check the option "Open in Excel Add-in"
=> Observe that this option is greyed out
Cause
- This is currently a by designed behaviour.
- This limitation was introduced in SAC 2026 QRC2 update because workbooks created could show unexpected data after opening.
Resolution
- This is currently a by designed behaviour.
- "Open in Excel Add-in" is greyed out in SAC story table based on a model containing user managed date dimension / flexible time dimension.
- In principle this limitation is the same as for the scenario "Launch Data Analyzer from Story".
