Symptom
While confirming Put-Away Task, the system displays the error message: "Actual delivery must be between DD.MM.YYYY and today."
(DD.MM.YYYY represents the date limit of two years from the current date)
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Inbound Logistics work center.
- Go to Task Control view.
- Search for the Put Away Task ABC (ABC represents put away task ID).
- Choose Confirm.
- Select the open line item and enter actual quantity as 0.
- Maintain a Deviation Reason (for example, “Missing Part”).
- Choose Save.
- System displays the error: “Actual delivery must be between DD.MM.YYYY and today”.
Cause
- The issue occurs because the Actual Delivery Date of the Put-Away task is older than two years, which exceeds the maximum backdating limit supported by the system.
- Although Business ByDesign allows inventory postings older than six months by enabling the business configuration question “Do you want to extend the posting period beyond 6 months?”, the functionality supports postings only up to two years in the past.
Resolution
Due to the system limitation, the deviation cannot be posted either through the UI or from the backend. As a result, the task remains In-Process.
