Symptom

  • The ASE error log frequently reports error message 9416, which reports a switch between "sync" and "async" modes.

server  Error: 9416, Severity: 17, State: 4
server  Rep Agent on database 'XXX' switched from mode 'sync' to mode 'async' because timer on commit expired.
server  Rep Agent on database 'XXX' switched from mode 'async' to mode 'sync' because scanner reached end of log.

  • When "dump transaction" is executed periodically for the primary database, it may be reported just after.
