3759393 - Custom business object screen visible on desktop but not in mobile app.

Symptom

  • A custom business object screen is visible in the desktop application but does not appear in the mobile app.
  • Error during activation in UI Designer in related scenarios: "Activation Failed for Because of Backend Consistency Check Violation. Referenced File Must be Tagged for Device Tablet".


Environment

  • SAP Cloud Applications Studio.
  • SAP Cloud for Customer core application.

Reproducing the Issue


  1. Log in to the mobile app.
  2. Navigate to the custom business object work center/view.
  3. Observe that the custom screen does not render in mobile, while it is visible in the desktop application.

Cause

The custom screen embeds the standard reuse EC component SRM_MultiStepApprovalReuse_EC, which is designed for desktop/tablet and does not fully support mobile rendering in custom UI scenarios. 

Resolution

  1. Open the custom UI component in UI Designer and verify Device Tagging.
  2. If set to Desktop only, add the required device tags (for example, Tablet and/or Phone) and activate the component.
  3. If activation returns the error "Activation Failed for Because of Backend Consistency Check Violation. Referenced File Must be Tagged for Device Tablet", ensure all referenced files are consistently tagged for the same devices, then activate again (refer to the linked guidance).
  4. If the custom screen embeds SRM_MultiStepApprovalReuse_EC for approvals, note that this reuse EC does not fully support mobile rendering in custom UI scenarios.
