3759693 - How to Open SAP Cloud for Customer Deep Links Directly in the Android App

Symptom

Deep links using the *.crm.ondemand.com pattern open in the mobile browser instead of the extended mobile app on Android.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Install the extended mobile app on an Android device.
  2. Open a deep link that uses the *.crm.ondemand.com URL pattern.
  3. Observe that the link opens in the mobile browser instead of the extended app.

Cause

Android does not automatically associate *.crm.ondemand.com URLs with the extended app until the URL pattern is manually linked in the device settings.

Resolution

  1. On the Android device, navigate to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Opening Links > SAP Cloud for Customer.
  2. Tap Add Link to view the supported URL patterns.
  3. Select the pattern *.crm.ondemand.com and tap Add to associate it with the app.
  4. Open the deep link again; it will now launch directly in the SAP Cloud for Customer Extended app.
