Symptom

In Team Overview, the message sent to ask for feedback email/request content is not displayed; feedback request message is truncated.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Sign in to Admin Center.
  2. Proxy as the manager of the impacted employee.
  3. Navigate to Performance > Team Overview and open the feedback received for the employee; observe the original request message (message sent when asking for feedback) is truncated.
  4. Open the employee’s Performance Management form.
  5. Select the feedback icon (feedback from Team Overview) in the form header; observe the original request message (message sent when asking for feedback) is truncated.

Expected behavior

Resolution

The behavior you’re seeing where inline replies are cut off or truncated is due to how the SuccessFactors email parser works to keep performance forms clean.

When someone replies to an Ask for Feedback email, the system looks for standard email separators and removes everything below them. This ensures that only the new comments are captured and prevents long email threads from appearing in the form. Since inline replies are usually written below these separators, they are removed by the system.
