3759795 - File Names Inside ZIP from Statutory Report APP Displayed as "#####" after Batch Download

Symptom

When download the reporting task documents compressed file (ZIP) from the statutory report app, the file names inside the ZIP are shown as "#####", instead of meaningful and readable names.

Expected meaningful names include report name, company code, date, and similar details.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the run statutory report app.
  2. Open the desired reporting task.
  3. Select all reports and start the download of the statutory report.
  4. Download the compressed ZIP file.
  5. Extract the ZIP locally and observe that file names appear as "#####".

Cause

During ZIP creation for batch download, Unicode file names are not enabled (the ZIP writer doesn't not use Unicode support). As a result, file names containing arbitrary/non-ASCII characters were replaced with "#####".

Resolution

Workaround: Download files individually from the app; this preserves correct file names.

A corrective fix is planned for the next cloud release to ensure batch ZIP downloads retain original file names. No customer configuration is required; monitor release information for availability.
