3759931 - Validation error "failed to authenticate the saml response" when external users sign in via custom learning site - SAP SuccessFactors Learning

An External user while logging into LMS site is facing an error: "Validation Error. Please correct the following errors before proceeding: Failed to authenticate the SAML response. If this keeps happening, please contact the administrator."

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Open the learning site login page and select Sign in.
2. When redirected to the IAS login page, enter the user credentials.
3. Observe the below error:
   

   Validation Error
   Please correct the following errors before proceeding:

   Failed to authenticate the SAML response. If this keeps happening, please contact the administrator.

For an external user, the Shopping Account Type in Learning Administration was set to Internal instead of External.

1. In Learning Administration, open the user record for the affected external user.
2. Go to Finance Tab
3. Change Shopping Account Type from Internal to External.
4. Save the changes.
5. Test the login again on the Learning site to confirm the error no longer occurs.
