3760180 - Material is locked during MDG change request blocks transactions with error "The plant data of the material & is locked by the user &".

Symptom

  • When a change request for an existing material is created, edited, approved, or activated in MDG, the material becomes locked.
  • Operational transactions on the same material (for example, goods movements or invoice postings) fail while the MDG change request is open.
  • Error message: M3897 — "The plant data of the material & is locked by the user &".
  • The system shows the user who holds the lock and prevents the transaction from proceeding.
